The Deacons
At Corona del Mar Community Church, the Diaconate works closely with the Ministers to nurture the spiritual life of our congregation. This dedicated group serves as a vital support system within our church, ensuring that worship, care, and community connection remain central to who we are.
The responsibilities of the Diaconate include:
New Member Integration:
Within sixty days of receiving a signed Covenant, Deacons invite new members to be officially welcomed during a Sunday service.
Worship Leadership:
When the Senior Pastor is unavailable or the position is vacant, the Deacons coordinate worship services and pulpit supply—even when an Interim Pastor is present.
Worship Preparation & Support:
Deacons care for the altar, prepare the Communion Table, assist with Holy Communion and Baptism, and help coordinate greeters and ushers.
Congregational Care:
Through intentional visitation and support systems, the Diaconate ensures members—especially those facing challenges—receive thoughtful care.
Welcoming & Belonging:
The Diaconate helps integrate both new and long-time members into the life of the church, especially during the early years of membership.
Nurturing Ministries:
Deacons support and develop programs specifically designed to nurture the women and men of the church.
Visitor Follow-up: Each visitor who signs our guest book is warmly followed up with by a member of the Diaconate.
